The Quest for the Dress

Yes. It's begun. In earnest. The good news is that the style I've been admiring/lusting over DOES, in fact, look good on me so that's a relief. Frankly, I don't know what I would have done if it didn't -- it was really the only style I've liked. At any rate, spent some time today in the one place I dread and avoid more than any other, Tysons Galleria.

I'd come to the conclusion that looking for an evening gown in a regular department store might be the better way to go because of the style (less formal, empire waisted, floaty, grecian-goddess-type-dress) and, of course, the price. Saw a couple dresses on the Bloomingdales site that looked promising and away I went. In theory. In reality, well, I forgot that it's prom season. So not only was I fighting for dressing room space with every teen girl in the area, but everything is brightly, brightly colored. And beaded. And scary. And a little hoochie.

So on our way back (Mom went with me), we stopped at David's Bridal in order to make an appointment and look to see what they had in store as I've sort of liked some of the gowns I've seen online. We go back on Tuesday evening and I'll have another report for you all afterward! And of course, a picture once the final contestant is selected and bought. Stay tuned ...
