Chic Tots Target Michele Cozy Blanket Bag
From the Chic Tots website:
chic: (shēk) adj. cleverly stylish
tot: (tôt) n. toddler
mama: (maּma) n. mother, woman, diva
The definition says it all, but the product backs it up. Chic Tots has some of the greatest products for babies. You can only imagine how I felt when two of my favorite things, Target and Chic Tots, joined forces.
You may remember a few weeks ago, I did an review on the Chic & Cozy Blanket Bag. What a great product. It use to be that you could purchase it online. Now, it is at your local Target store.
In fact, I went to Target in Annapolis, MD to see for myself. Here are a few pictures of me with the Chic & Cozy Blanket Bag:
I was so excited to see all of Michele Good's hard work receive recognition. Check out the cool display at Target:

Gift Etiquette
I'm having a dilemma and I'm hearing different things from different people. If you've been reading this, you know Matt and I are having a VERY small wedding -- just family and one really good friend. We hadn't even thought about registering, really, because 1) we have pretty much everything we need for the house and 2) uh, we're not inviting anyone to the wedding. Well, one of our friends works part time at Crate and Barrel and they were having a registry party, so she invited us to go. We went and it was fun and we zapped a bunch of stuff that we'd LIKE to have, so we can get rid of old, mismatched things and get kitchen gadgets we've always coveted, but never gotten, things of that nature, but now we don't know if we should actually tell people we're registered and if so, how? It seems tacky to send out an announcement with no invitation, yet with a note about where we're registered. "You're not invited, but we'd love to get a gift from you!" Our friends and family are, of course, thrilled about our upcoming marriage and are nothing but happy for us, and I'm sure would think nothing of sending a gift, but I don't know if it's RIGHT. Has anyone else wrestled with this? Am I thinking too much about it? A bunch of friends have asked if we're registered anywhere and I've told them, but have also said we don't really expect them to get us anything. Maybe that's enough. Maybe everything's going so well I need something to stress about. :) At any rate, if any of you have any opinions about this, I'd love to hear them. Looks as though everyone else's events are coming together and that's great! Hope it all continues that way and thank you ahead of time for your collective help. Have a great night!
Best wishes vs Congrats
This may sound funny to some of you but here is the difference.... You offer Congratulations to the groom-to-be....hey, you are a catch and he should be congratulated! You offer Best Wishes to the bride-to-be...she will need good wishes to take care of him! Don't congratulate a bride...it's tacky.
DJs....can make it or break it
So I have heard at least... So, I am meeting with my DJ soon and I am supposed to bring him a list of play/do-not play list. Here is what I have come up with: Get people on dance floor: Just Dance Bouquet toss: Beyonce - All the single ladies (put your hand up) Garter toss: Britney Spears - Womanizer Do not play: Love Shack Hokey pokey Any advice from other brides-to-be???
Groom's Cake...a southern tradition?
In keeping with the DIY theme, our Groom's cake will be homemade. So, I have found that when I mention the Groom's cake to people here in DC they have no idea what I am talking about unless they are from the south! Well, northerns, listen here - you are missing out! This is your chance to splurge on even more cake flavors!! We are going to have wedding cake in flavors of carrot cake and red velvet and then my Granny is making the Groom's cake with chocolate and vanilla. Yummy.
Cherry blossoms
I can see why the Cherry Blossom theme for weddings is so popular...especially here in the DC area. My fiance and I went down to the tidal basin to check them out last weekend and they were just beautiful. Since our wedding is in June they won't be around any longer but I am on the look out for some realist silks to decorate the reception!
Dress Problems
OMG you will not believe this my bridesmaids dresses are here, not a big deal is probably what your thinking. Well think again all my bridesmaids have yet to try on their dresses the first person who picked her dress up called me and said Lynn i don't want to stress you out but come to my house so you can see my dress. They meassured her at the shop and ordered he dress in the size that she needed, but when it got here and i finally got to her house she went to put it on it took me pulling the dress together while her husband zipped it up once we got it zipped up we discovered that there was a straight pin sewing in the seam of the dress and one strap was twisted and the hooks for the neck were sewen on the wrong side due to the strap being twisted. I said take the dress back to the shop and tell the lady there and show her what is wrong with the dress, in the mean time i will call ahead and give her a heads up on whats going on. So i called her on Monday morning and explained to her in a voice mail what all was wrong and that she (maid of Honor) would be bringing the dress into the shop that afternoon please have her try on a dress that is the correct size and the one dress that we ordered for another person to make sure if the sizes were running correctly. That afternoon my Maid of Honor gets there they had her try on the other bridesmaids dress that was the same size as hers and it fit her perfectly, so they are thank god not giving her any problems and will be ordering her a new dress without it costing her a cent. My next thing is finding candles i have yet to find any of the unity candels that are less than 40.00, what is up with that i would love the fancy carved candles for my wedding but they are ridiculus in price does any one have a good place they can recomend to buy pillar candles and the long candles ? Later everyone have a good week lynn
