Before the fairy tale ending...
Have you ever been to a wedding where during the reception they play a slideshow of photos of the bride and groom? From infants up until they met? With all those sentimental songs playing in the background to narrate the story? Well guess what? You can make one too! And for free no less! Two years ago I was introduced to this program at work, we wanted to make a slideshow of photos of our retiring boss, highlighting all her years as a nurse. That program was Photo Story by Microsoft, its a free program that Microsoft offers on their site. The plan for our wedding is to put this on the new plasma in the living room on a continuous loop so that all the guests can enjoy it. So far I've scanned in and collected a good 20 minutes worth of photos and have already inserted some music. What's neat about the program is that you can customize the motion from picture to picture and edit right down to how long a picture will show on the screen. You can add music and a whole bunch of other goodies! Its saves as a Windows Media File, but if you have a computer savvy person around have them convert it to a dvd for you.
Here is a screenshot of Photo Story, its really user friendly and gives you a link that quickly takes you to the Help menu. Its pretty much self-explanatory and gives you nice little tips at the top of the window. I have to say, sometimes its a little time consuming, especially editing each picture's timing and motion, but in the end, it is SO much fun to see the end result!
I highly recommend this program for a little bit of fun! ;)
